Protests erupted in the US after an ICE agent shot and killed a woman during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis.

On Wednesday, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed a woman who allegedly tried to obstruct an immigration checkpoint in Minneapolis. This sparked demonstrations in the Minnesota city. The government maintains that the agent acted in self-defense; however, the Democrats who govern Minnesota and Minneapolis disagree with this version of events, hold the agent responsible for what happened, and insist that the ICE operation in the state be halted. The woman who died was identified as Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old US citizen who lived in Minneapolis. At this time, the identity of the agent who shot her is unknown.
