Peru's Ministry of Health (Minsa) plans to use mosquitoes linked to Bill Gates in Comas, Peru

Peru's Ministry of Health (Minsa) launched a pilot program in Comas (Lima) to combat dengue fever by releasing Aedes aegypti mosquitoes carrying the naturally occurring Wolbachia bacteria, not genetically modified insects linked to Bill Gates. However, the plan is part of a global project supported by Bill Gates to control dengue, leading to confusion and conspiracy theories about his involvement. This strategy aims to reduce the population of mosquito vectors by releasing males carrying Wolbachia. When these males mate with undomesticated females, they produce unhatched eggs, thus reducing the spread of the dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.
