Machu Picchu: the search begins for an advisor for the study to update its visitor capacity. Mincetur will finance the new study, which will renew the data on the carrying capacity and sustainable management of Machu Picchu collected in a previous investigation carried out in 2015.

The Mincetur (Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism) reported that, at the national level, a call has been made to hire a consultant to carry out the study on the load capacity and the acceptable exchange limit in Machu Picchu. This study will determine the number of visitors who can access the sanctuary. Mincetur announced that the invitation for national consultants will be open until December 15 and then, a similar call will be opened for international bidders. The ministry also specified that this progress can be made after having signed an agreement with the Ministry of Culture and the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp), an entity attached to the Ministry of the Environment.
