Le Duc Tho, the only individual who refused to accept the Nobel Peace Prize

"There has been no real establishment of peace in South Vietnam," Tho said upon receiving the award. "Under these conditions, I cannot accept the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to me by the committee." With this statement, Tho became the first person to refuse the Nobel Peace Prize, and, so far, the only one.
