Do you shower at dawn or before going to bed? Or maybe you're one of those people who doesn't shower every day.

Showering helps remove sweat, oil, and dirt from our skin. These accumulate throughout the day, along with pollutants, dust, and pollen in the atmosphere. If you don't shower before going to sleep, these residues remain on your sheets and pillowcase. But that's not all. Your skin is home to a wealth of microbial life. If you zoom in on one square centimeter of skin, you'll see that it contains between 10,000 and one million bacteria. They feed on the oil your sweat glands secrete. Although sweat has no odor, the sulfur compounds that generate bacteria like staph do. Therefore, taking a shower before going to bed may seem like the cleanest alternative.
