The academic published an essay studying the history of technological advancement and how the new revolution might influence the coming years. Some countries, like Japan, stagnated economically. Frey, who answered this interview via videoconference, focuses on the most planned economy, the Soviet Union. The latter collapsed in the 1990s after 40 years of economic growth, as if it had begun to crumble long before.
